HSE takes on Brownsburg

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Another big Hoosier Crossroads Conference game takes place at Brownsburg this week when the Hamilton Southeastern Royals travel west to take on the Bulldogs.

The battle for a conference title always seems to be stiff in the HCC. Last year it was a three-way tie between HSE, Brownsburg and Avon. Through two weeks this season there are already three teams at 2-0 and four teams at 1-1, with a lot of those undefeated teams having match-ups with each other still pending.

Hamilton Southeastern is coming off a nice win over their biggest rival, Fishers, last week. Led by senior running back Ryan Ripp’s three touchdowns, the Royals took home a 28-21 win over the Tigers. That was a nice bounce-back after losing on a last second field goal in week one at Avon. They didn’t have much time enjoy that win though, as they prepare to go on the road this week.

Brownsburg comes in sitting at 2-0 after wins over McCutcheon and Noblesville. By no means are those two of the strongest teams in the HCC, but they were both away from home for the Bulldogs so there is something to be said for that. They were also both very decisive victories, winning by 27 and 28 points. You can expect lots of energy on both sides of the field and stands for this one. The Bulldog student section should be ready for their first home contest of 2012.
