INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The PeyBack Foundation announced Monday the teams that will participate in this year's PeyBack Classic on Saturday, August 20 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The first game of the triple header starts at 2 p.m. with Evansville Mater Dei vs Indian Creek followed by Brebeuf vs Chatard and Ben Davis vs Cathedral.  Each game begins 30 minutes after the conclusion of the previous game.  This year's games will once again be televised on MyINDY-TV Channel 23 (WNDY-TV) and streamed live on IndyTV.com.  Advanced tickets for the event will be available at the high schools playing in the PeyBack Classic in mid-July. Each school will benefit from the tickets they sell.

“We are excited to announce the schools that are participating in this year’s PeyBack Classic and the fact that we are able to host three games this year allowing more student athletes the opportunity to experience playing a game in Lucas Oil Stadium,” said Peyton Manning, PeyBack Foundation President. “We are also pleased to announce the second annual PeyBack Foundation scholarship recipient, Jacob Slusher, a deserving student athlete. Hopefully this $10,000 scholarship will help to further his higher education and expand his opportunities for growth.”

Peyton Manning launched the PeyBack Classic in 2000. To date over 30 Indiana high schools have participated in the event, allowing hundreds of student athletes the opportunity to play on an NFL sanctioned field.

The foundation also announced the winner of their annual scholarship to a student athlete who participated in the 2010 PeyBack Classic.  This year's recipient is Jacob Slusher of Greensburg, Indiana.  Slusher is planning on attending the University of Indianapolis in the fall. He received varsity letters from Greensburg Community High School in football and wrestling and volunteers his time to numerous community organizations. Last year’s scholarship recipient was Brandon Washington from Arlington High School; he just completed his freshman year at Indiana University and is traveling this summer to Africa and Europe with the Union Board.

Student athletes from the schools that participate in this year’s PeyBack Classic may apply through their school athletic department for the 2012 PeyBack Foundation scholarship. The selected scholarship recipient will receive a grant to attend a college or university of their choice. Criteria for the scholarship application includes graduating senior who participated in the 2011 PeyBack Classic, positive sportsmanship behavior displayed throughout their high school career, academics, financial need, community involvement/philanthropy and leadership. Applications will be available in January 2012.

Manning established the PeyBack Foundation in 1999 to help disadvantaged youth build a successful future for themselves and it accomplishes its mission through helping established community-based programs provide fundamental leadership and growth opportunities for kids. The PeyBack Foundation focuses its efforts in a three state region and has donated more than $5.5 million to youth organizations in Indiana, Tennessee, and Louisiana since its inception.
