INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - NCAA rules have prevented a high school basketball tournament from taking place at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Saturday.

Officials at Butler University in Indianapolis said Friday that NCAA schools are prohibited from hosting The Big Rivals tournament because it was deemed to be non-scholastic. The NCAA prohibits Division I schools from hosting non-scholastic basketball events on campus if prospective college athletes are playing.

Ten prep teams from Indiana were scheduled to play on Butler's home court Saturday.

Butler says in a news release that fans who purchased tickets in advance can contact their local schools to receive a refund. The school also says the participating schools can reschedule the games they were supposed to play Saturday,.
