INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- No. 1-ranked Marian holds off a late rally from the No. 7-ranked St. Francis to stay undefeated in the NAIA.
Marian overcame an early Saint Francis lead; the Cougars quickly jumped out to 14-0 lead in the first quarter. St. Francis had a shot to win it at the 5 yards line with under a minute to go, but the Knights defense stopped them for the win.
Sophomore running back Tevin Lake continued to dominate. He wrapped up the game with 28 touches for 180 yards. This marked his fifth 100-yard game this season.
Marian is now 6-0 overall and 3-0 in Mid-States Football Association Mideast League play.
