INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indiana Pacers number one pick is pleased.

Tyler Hansbrough remarked "I was thrilled, it was like a dream come true."

Hansbrough is the newest member of the Indiana Pacers. The former National College player of the year was officially introduced at Conseco Fieldhouse. His first question came from his new head coach, Jim O'Brien.

Jim O'Brien asked "Feel any pressure?"

Hansbrough replied "No"

O'Brien replied back "I do"

Hansbrough led North Carolina to the NCAA title this past season and is the ACC's all time leading scorer. He says ready to prove that he can be just as successful in the NBA.

Hansbrough commented "Not too many people thought I was going to be very good in college but I've proven them wrong. I'm ready to prove some more people wrong."

Larry Bird commented "It sort of reminds me of when I came out there was always skeptism that I couldn't play in this league against these player but Tyler's got that going around right now but Tyler will be fine."

The Pacers believe they have the perfect fit to continuing rebuilding they have a guy that works hard and plays with a lot of passion.

Coach O'Brien likes the pick "Championships and playoffs are built on young men like Tyler"

Hansbrough added "I think they are getting a hard worker and someone who brings it every night. Also I'm a guy that I've been in college for four years so I don't need to sit on the bench and develop I'll come in right away and help out."

And that's all the Pacers and their fans are looking for.
