INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - After winning 15 games in a row at home, the Pacers have now dropped their last two. They hit the practice floor Tuesday afternoon at Bankers Life Fieldhouse to correct a few things before they host Charlotte Wednesday night.
Indiana may get some help.
There's still the possibility Danny Granger could play against the Bobcats. WISH-TV was there as Granger practiced full court again on Tuesday. Frank Vogel told sports director Anthony Calhoun that Granger did more work Tuesday than he's done to this point.
The team will see how he responds to the heavy work load Wednesday morning and then make a decision whether or not he’ll play.
“My message to Danny is we don't want you to come back until you feel like you're ready,” Vogel said. “We don't want to rush guys back that aren't ready to come back, that don't feel good about how they're playing and how their body's feeling, so if he's not there yet, then I don't want to push the issue. We'll wait.”
Granger’s missed the entire season with a knee injury. Vogel said Granger was a little rusty at practice, but overall looked pretty good.
“I want to warn everybody about expecting to see a 40 minute All-Star Danny Granger right away. It's going to take some time, especially with rhythm timing and conditioning,” Vogel added.
“He looked like he didn't miss a beat,” Pacers forward Paul George said. “He still has the same burst, the same explosiveness. I think the only thing is his wind and his legs getting under him, but I think when he comes back, it will almost be like he wasn't out.”
