INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Downtown Indianapolis will be the site of a spirited gathering at lunchtime Tuesday to congratulate the Indiana Fever on their WNBA championship.

A parade is set to start a Monument Circle at noon. Afterward, Georgia Street at Bankers Life Fieldhouse will be buzzing with celebration of the Indiana Fever. Watch the parade live on WISH-TV and WISHTV.com.

Will it rain?

Forecast 8 meteorologist Randy Ollis said spotty showers are possible throughout the parade, with the rain likely not clearing completely until later in the afternoon.

Parade route

The parade will run from the circle, south on Meridian Street three blocks to Georgia Street, then east one block on Georgia Street to Pennsylvania Street, where the celebration hits center stage just outside Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

A float carrying the Fever players will be escorted by IMPD, IFD and a marching band.

The parade will last about 20 minutes, and a short program will follow.

After the parade, fans will hear from Head Coach Lin Dunn and star players Tamika Catchings and Katie Douglas.

Traffic notes

Pennsylvania Street between Maryland and South streets will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In addition, the following streets on the parade route will be closed or restricted from approximately 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.:
