INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - After crowds packed into Super Bowl Village Friday night, cramming people to the point where they couldn’t move, some streets closures will be in place Saturday night.

Indianapolis Department of Public Safety is urging families with children in strollers and people who need handicap access to use Georgia Street from McCrea to Captiol streets.

DPS has also changed the way it directs traffic from the Huddle. People exiting the Huddle on the Georgia Street side will be forced east to Meridian Street and then north on Meridian to leave the area. Those leaving the Huddle on the Meridian Street side will be forced north on Meridian to move away from the area.

Extra street closures are in effect as officers work to control the crowd.

  • DPS says Capitol Street will remain closed from Washington to Maryland streets.
  • Market Street is closed on either side of the circle, from Pennsylvania to Illinois streets. The south end of the circle also remains closed.
  • Washington Street is closed from Delaware to Illinois streets.
  • Meridian is restricted from Georgia Street north to the circle.
  • Southbound traffic on Capitol Avenue won't be able to get south of Washington Street.
  • Traffic from West Street can't travel eastbound on Maryland Street.
  • Officials also won't be allowing people to travel north on Delaware Street from South Street near Banker's Life Fieldhouse.
