FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) - As Super Bowl festivities begin, residents and visitors have begun seeking alternative transportation options to travel downtown.

Responding to around-the-clock calls and emails about the Indy Express Bus commuter service, the Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority (CIRTA) and Miller Trailways, operator of Indy Express Bus, have teamed up to provide more service options originating in Carmel and Fishers.

On Saturday, February 4, Indy Express Bus will pick up passengers at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. (not 4 p.m. as previously reported) and head downtown.

Shuttles will leave from Meijer in Carmel (intersection of Pennsylvania and Carmel Drive) and in Fishers at Prairie View at Crosspoint northeast corner of 106th Street and Lantern Road,  the same locations where Indy Express Bus offers regular weekday commuter service.

The shuttle will drop off passengers at the northeast corner of Illinois and New York Streets.

Shuttles will depart from Illinois and New York at 4 p.m.  and 7:30 pm.

Saturday one-way tickets are $10 and available on board the bus; cash only, exact change required.

In addition to the morning and evening rush hour service Indy Express Bus offers commuters on weekdays, this week there will be an extra bus that will leave the Carmel and Fishers departure points at 1 pm to travel downtown.

In addition to the regular evening rush hour departure times, shuttles will pick up at the Illinois and New York stop only at 7:30 pm and head back to Carmel and Fishers.

All weekday one-way tickets are $5 and available on board the bus; cash only, exact change required.

Each trip will take approximately 40 minutes, but delays may occur downtown.

Weekday morning and evening rush hour fares will remain at $5 one way.
