INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Despite the biggest game of the year taking place inside Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis’ Super Bowl Village was brimming with people.
Some villagegoers without tickets to the big game were flocking to bars and restaurants for a chance to watch the game while others were just out enjoying the weather.
24-Hour News 8 crews spotted people hanging out of windows, listening to music drifting out of bars along Georgia Street.
Meanwhile, police turned to social media to remind would-be villagegoers that the game would not be shown on the large screens throughout the village, asking them to find a place to watch the game.
One of our crews spotted patrons lining up, waiting for a chance to pay a $20 cover charge to get into Killroys downtown.
At a party at a house in Avon, fans were enjoying cocktail shrimp, Chex mix, meatballs, veggies and plenty of brews.
"It always tastes better when you don't have to cook it," said partygoer Roy Drew.

In Carmel, at the Lucas estate (home of Forest and Charlotte Lucas, owner of Lucas Oil) things were a little more upscale.
The 432 guests at the exclusive party included Lucas Oil employees, c ustomers and clientele. Forest Lucas himself was attending the game at the stadium that bears his name, but was scheduled to return to the party after the game, a spokesperson told 24-Hour News 8 reporter Adrienne Broaddus.
