INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis has made a great impression on the NFL, one that the football organization isn’t likely to forget anytime soon, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said during his State of the League address at the JW Marriott Friday.
"To Jim Irsay, Governor Daniels, Mayor Ballard, the Super Bowl Host Committee, and most importantly the people of Indianapolis, it has been a superb week. A tremendous job was done by all and we are grateful for the hospitality you've shown us. I can assure you, it's something we'll always remember."
And the impression won’t end there, the commissioner responded favorably when asked if Indy is a candidate to host future Super Bowls.
"Sure, it is. We're here and they're doing a fantastic job. I said we're in the second quarter yesterday, maybe we're in the third quarter today, but we got a weekend still to go and a game to put on and I know everybody in Indianapolis is focused on the future, but we want to make sure that this week turns out to be what everyone has worked so hard for and I believe it is going to be a great week. I believe the community here could not have done a better job of organizing this week's events or embracing this and I think that it's great that Indianapolis is on the global stage."
