INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis bus system reports traffic during the first weekend of Super Bowl festivities was up 28 percent over usual weekend traffic.
According to Super Bowl Host Committee tallies, 265,000 people visited Super Bowl Vilalge in downtown Indianapolis Friday through Monday. That is undoubtedly contributing to the boost in IndyGo ridership, with thousands of people riding who don't on an average week.
As the big game gets closer, IndyGo also encouraged those thinking about taking buses downtown to be aware that regular hours are in play, and not all service runs on weekends. Specifically, only 17 of 30 routes run on Sunday, and hours are limited and downtown departures are earlier than on weekdays.
Schedules, including the final downtown departures, for each route are posted on IndyGo.net. Information is also available via IndyGo’s customer service line, 317-635-3344.
IndyGo’s fixed route and ADA paratransit services, not including the Green Line Downtown/Airport Express, will be free to riders this Thursday through Super Bowl Sunday.
