INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Super Bowl staffing companies need you! The big game is now less than 30 days away and there are still hundreds of jobs available. Hiring began back in October. Staffing companies tell 24-Hour News 8, response has been strong, but if you want to work for a couple of weeks leading up to and the day of the Super Bowl, there are still openings.
Brent Woodruff of Indianapolis based Knowledge Services says his company is still trying to fill about 300 openings. If you have energy and a good attitude, he says has a job for you.
"These positions will be helping individuals get from place to place, just kind of be a face to the city so that people know they are informed and not just left out in the cold," he says.
You'll find yourself at various parking and transportation venues throughout the city, earning $10 dollars an hour.
"We are currently seeking to fill another 200 to 300 jobs for Super Bowl in the hospitality industry," says LGC Executive Vice President Glen Greenawalt.
Indianapolis based LGC Hospitality Staffing has a long history of hiring temporary workers for big events, including 13 Super Bowls. In Indianapolis Greenawalt says they'll probably be hiring right up until Super Sunday.
"The big demand area is going to be on the culinary side. Anything from a prep cook to executive chef and then for bartenders, there's an enormous need for that."
Those jobs will pay between $9 and $17 an hour says Greenawalt, plus tips in many cases. Highly skilled chefs jobs will pay more.
But both staffing companies stress, previous job training is not necessary.
"They just need to bring the standard ID's that every employer requires to show that you can work in the United States. But beyond that, that's all that they need," says Woodruff.
The Super Bowl jobs will last anywhere from one day to a couple of weeks. If you want to work past the Super Bowl, that could happen too. Glen Greenawalt says LGC staffs a lot of big events in Indianapolis throughout the year. If it works well during the Super Bowl, they can find work for you after it’s over.
