INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The biggest security problem in the Super Bowl Village has been lost and missing children, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Deputy Chief Mike Bates reported Friday.
In each case, the child was quickly reunited with his or her group police said.
As a result, the members of the Host Committee provided some helpful tips for parents taking children downtown.
First and foremost, they asked parents not to drop off children and teens and leave them downtown.
“Come down as a group and a family; stay together as a team” Susan Baughman said.
Secondly, make sure young children know their parents’ first and last names so police and volunteers can easily locate them.
Establish a gathering spot where your group will meet in the event someone gets lost.
If going downtown with children, take a picture of them that day so you will have an accurate description of the child and what they were wearing.
