Indiana State Police officials reported difficult road conditions particularly along I-69 between the 222 and 232 mile markers.
Police officials were asking motorists to avoid I-70 near the 59-mile marker -- around the Hendricks and Morgan county lines -- as of 9 a.m. because of the number of wrecks.
As of 8:30 a.m., ISP officials in the Indianapolis area said they had more than 50 car crashes that involved either no injuries or minor injuries.
