INDIANAPOLIS (INDOT) - Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractors plan to restrict one lane of I-465 on the west side on Saturday, September 22 for paving operations.
Walsh Construction, the state's contractor, will close the left lane of southbound I-465 between 34th and 21st Streets beginning at 4 a.m. The lane is expected to remain closed through Saturday until midnight.
Southbound I-465 currently has three lanes shifted toward the median-with one lane to the right for exiting to westbound I-74, US 136 and Crawfordsville Road-as Walsh replaces temporary pavement with permanent concrete.
Northbound I-465 will undergo a similar traffic shift in the near future.
When the pavement replacement is complete, I-465 will be put in its permanent configuration with four lanes for through traffic and additional auxiliary and ramp lanes for traffic entering and exiting the interstate.
