MUNCIE, Ind. (INDOT) - The Indiana Department of Transportation will restrict lanes on Interstate 69 approaching the 231.4 mile marker in Delaware County this Wednesday and Thursday to facilitate replacement of nonworking in-road traffic sensors.

  • 9 a.m. Wednesday-northbound I-69 left lane will close.
  • 1 p.m. Wednesday-northbound I-69 right lane will close.
  • 9 a.m. Thursday-southbound I-69 left lane will close.
  • 1 p.m. Thursday-southbound I-69 right lane will close.

The I-69 231.4 mile marker is south of the State Road 67/Muncie Bypass interchange at Daleville.  Approaching traffic is expected to be impacted for half a mile by single-lane restrictions.  Those restrictions should be lifted by 4:30 p.m. each day.

In-road sensors are configured as loops or straight-line installations.  They are used for counting and classifying vehicles.
