INDIANAPOLIS (INDOT) - The Indiana Department of Transportation will again restrict Interstate 70 lanes-one single lane segment at a time-from Post Road to the Buck Creek bridge during overnight hours. The alternating lane closures allow INDOT's contractor to grind pavement for smoothness and create rumble stripes at the shoulder's inside edge.
Beginning tomorrow evening, single-lane closures will be employed between mile markers 91.0 and 95.5 starting from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning. Overnight operations will continue through Sunday morning.
INDOT advises motorists to drive with extra caution through the construction zone. Barrels and lighted message boards will direct drivers around individual worksites occurring at various locations in both eastbound and westbound lanes.
Once the grinding, grooving and placement of pavement markings are accomplished, Reith Riley, the state's contractor, will have substantially completed work on this $32.3 million Major Moves project which has fully reconstructed the roadway and added travel lanes.
