CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) - Big time professional golf is returning to the Indianapolis area this September with the PGA Tour's BMW Championship at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel.
The tournament will be the PGA Tour's first stop in Indianapolis in over two decades. The last event held in town was the 1991 PGA Championship. It will take place Sept. 6-9. Tiger Woods is expected to play that weekend.
The event is the third leg of the tour’s FedEx Cup Playoffs. Defending BMW champion Justin Rose was in town this week to help preview the tournament. 24-Hour News 8 Sports Director Anthony Calhoun had the chance to chat with Rose about the tour coming back to Indianapolis.
