INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Janet Davis was born in 1902, in Fountain County, Ind.
There was no air travel in those days, but the years have flown by and she recently celebrated her 110th birthday at Carmel Health and Community Living.
Believed to be the oldest woman in Indiana, possibly in the Midwest, she received her degree in nursing in 1922 and worked at Methodist Hospital. She has a clear memory of her brother going off to WWI and returning to marry his fiancée.
Janet, herself, never married, but she has been a world traveler, visiting scores of countries over the years. Janet has never driven a car. When asked what she attributes her long life to, she says simply: walking.
You can send a tweet to Janet and wish her many more birthdays at @IndyBday.
