CENTRAL INDIANA (WISH) - Eyes were to the sky as a severe storms hit Indianapolis and the surrounding areas Saturday night.
Forecast 8's VIPIR showed the storm moving south east across the area, creating warnings for several counties.
One of the areas hit the hardest was near Tipton, where damage included downed trees and power lines. One downed tree damaged a large propane tank.
In Cumberland, hail piled up on doorsteps in, and nearly reached the size of golfballs in Hancock County.
The hail forced one man riding his motorcycle to pull over and wait out the storm, "A few pieces of pellets started coming down then chunks of hail, and it was real sporadic. Traffic on the interstate was stopped in both directions near the Ditch Road overpass until crews could turn off of the power and remove the lines.
