ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Police say they found "copious amounts" of blood in a Detroit-area home where a man is charged with fatally shooting a couple and dismembering the bodies.

Roger Bowling made his first court appearance Monday on charges of first-degree murder and other crimes. He didn't say anything and was ordered back to jail without bond. No attorney was present.

The dismembered bodies of Chris Hall and Danielle Greenway were found last week in the Detroit River. Police say they don't know a motive in the deaths.

The 39-year-old Bowling was Greenway's ex-boyfriend from years ago and moved in with the engaged couple a few weeks ago.

Greenway's mother, Lila Greenway, yelled, "burn in hell!" as Bowling was escorted out of court in Allen Park.
