PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Maryland teenager faces 15 years in prison after admitting he agreed to help the American terrorist dubbed "Jihad Jane" raise money and recruits for a Muslim holy war.

Eighteen-year-old Mohammad Hassan Khalid pleaded guilty Friday in federal court in Philadelphia to a single count of conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists in and around Europe. A sentencing date wasn't been set.

The Ellicott City, Md., honors student had been preparing to go to Johns Hopkins University on a full scholarship. He has been in federal custody since last summer.

Authorities say at age 15 he met a Pennsylvania woman online who called herself Jihad Jane. The woman, Colleen LaRose, admitted she had plotted to kill a Swedish artist who had offended Muslims. She faces life in prison.
