LOS ANGELES (AP) — A 14-year-old Southern California boy has been charged with murdering his father, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.
The boy was charged Friday with one count of murder with an allegation that he personally used a firearm to shoot his father, 42-year-old Myron Chisem. Los Angeles County prosecutors will seek to have the teen tried as an adult when he appears Monday in juvenile court.
Authorities say Chisem was killed with his own gun late Wednesday when his son fired a single shot through a window from the backyard of their Carson home. Officials say the boy then called 911.
No motive has been given for the shooting.
