(CNN) - Every penny counts. That's what some Chipotle Mexican Grill customers are saying.

The New Jersey Star-Ledger reports that busy Chipotle locations in New York and New Jersey were rounding customers' totals to the nearest nickel.

The chain said it was to keep lines moving faster by limiting the amount of change needed.

The paper says after customers questioned why they were never told about the new practice, Chipotle added the info to receipts and decided to only round down the amounts in favor of the customer.
