GOP candidates debate prior to May primary

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Republican hopefuls for Senate debated live Sunday night.

Businessman Mike Braun, Rep. Luke Messer and Rep. Todd Rokita will face-off at  7 p.m. (Eastern) at the WISH-TV studio in Indianapolis.

The debate will air live on WISH (Indianapolis), WANE (Fort Wayne), WTVW (Evansville) and WTWO (Terre Haute).

The trio hope to face incumbent Democrat Senator Joe Donnelly in November. Donnelly is unopposed on the primary ballot.

Indiana’s primary is scheduled for May 8.

WISH-TV news anchor Brooke Martin will be the moderator and one of three panelists. The other panelists will be Brad Byrd, the main news anchor at WEHT-TV in Evansville, and David Williams, the WISH-TV/Nexstar Indiana Statehouse bureau chief.

The debate will also be available in Spanish.
