(CNN/WGN) - A sinkhole swallowed three cars Thursday, April 18 - and a camera caught one falling into the hole.
It happened in a south Chicago neighborhood.
One person had to be pulled out of the crater and taken to a hospital.
Officials said there had been heavy rain and flooding in the area but it's not clear if that caused the ground to open up.
1:30 P.M. UPDATE: Indiana State Police handled 20 slide-offs in the Bloomington district because of the winter weather, as of 12:30 p.m. Troopers also reported 14 car crashes and 16 cases of helping a motorist.
State police are warning drivers traveling on Interstate 70 near Richmond in eastern Indiana that a 10-mile stretch is icy and there have been numerous crashes.
