Central Indiana Dance Ensemble presents classic “Peter Pan”

Experience the classic fairy tale, Peter Pan, where dancers will transform into Wendy, Michael and John and take to the sky with Peter Pan to fly to Neverland where they meet up with Tiger Lily, Captain Hook and the Lost Boys.

Audience members will feel like a kid again and won’t want to grow up after seeing this fun, iconic fairy tale ballet come to life.

It’s part of a performance by the Central Indiana Dance Ensemble, where performers will present the full-length storybook ballet Peter Pan at the Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre. Performance times are May 18th at 7:30pm and May 19th at 2:00pm and 7:30pm. Tickets are $20 for students and children under 18 and $30 for adults.

ABOUT:

• Peter Pan is played by Nick Posluszny (pause-lose-knee). Nick is 15, and a freshman at Carmel High School. He started dancing at age 7, and has been a Central Indiana Dance Ensemble company member since 2013. He has studied in the summer with the Nashville Ballet and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and looks forward to his education this summer with the Orlando Ballet.

• Wendy is played by Lauren Ulm. Lauren is a sophomore at Indiana Connections Academy. She began dancing at age 3. Lauren is part of the day program at Central Indiana Academy of Dance where she trains full-time. Upon graduation, Lauren aspires to dance professionally. Lauren will attend the Kansas City Ballet Summer Intensive this June where she will continue her training.

• During the show, Wendy and Peter will actually take to the sky and FLY! To make Wendy and Peter fly, CIDE employs “Flying by Troy” which uses a bully system operated by five crew members back stage.

• Peter Pan is staged under the direction of CIDE Artistic Director Suzanne DeLay.
