Lisa responds after mysterious 'I'm Sorry, Lisa' signs pop up in Florida

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) -- Signs along several roadways in Pasco County, Florida left people wondering what happened to a woman named Lisa.

The signs are handwritten on pink and yellow poster board with the message "I'm sorry Lisa."

According to a viewer at WISH-TV's sister station WFLA, the signs are "all over the roads in Pasco County seeming to all lead up to right around the Carlton Arms area in New Port Richey."

We gotta know: What happened, Lisa?!

Well, now Lisa is speaking out.

A woman named Lisa posted in the New Port Richey residents Facebook group saying the mysterious apology was meant for her.

She thanked everyone for their concern and explained what happened.

"This guy went up and above to show me he was sorry for ruining our 1st date," the post read.

She said the two met at the gym and the guy seemed shy but she decided to join him for a date.

"He was so nervous about making a good impression that he forgot his wallet and I [had] to pick up the tab," she wrote.

A man named Jared appeared on a Tampa Bay radio station Tuesday morning.

He said Lisa loved the signs after he ruined their sushi date and he's excited about their make-up dinner in the near future.
