LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Police in this staunchly conservative West Texas city say they will keep close tabs on a recently opened cleaning service that offers nude maids.
Lubbock police Sgt. Jonathan Stewart said Tuesday that the owner of Fantasy Maid Service doesn't have a permit to operate a sexually oriented business. A violation brings a $2,000 fine.
Owner Melissa Borrett says customers pay $100 an hour for one maid and $150 an hour for two. The 26-year-old says she's not operating a sexually oriented business. She says no touching is allowed.
Borrett opened the business about a month ago. A Craig's List ad for the service posted Friday offered 20 percent discounts for Easter weekend.
There's a regular discount to public servants and law enforcement.
