4 face charges in North Vernon murder case

NORTH SALEM, Ind. (WISH) — Jennings County authorities said the fourth person wanted in connection to a homicide Monday night in a subdivision northwest of North Vernon has been apprehended and is in custody. 

The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office announced late Saturday night that Destiny Bailey, 25, who was wanted on a felony charge of assisting a criminal was taken into custody.

Donavon Booker, 23, was found shot in the upper torso about 7 p.m. Monday in a driveway of a home in the 3900 block of Squire Lakes Boulevard in Country Squire Lakes, located northwest of North Vernon along State Road 7. Booker was taken to St. Vincent Jennings hospital where he later died. 

Stephon Moore, 30, of Louisville, Ky., faces a count of murder and two counts of attempted murder for his involvement. He was being held Saturday night in a Louisville jail awaiting extradition. No date has been set for Moore to be officially charged, according to Indiana’s online court records.

Also charged in the case, according to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office, are Frank M. Bailey, 20, of North Vernon, and Fashion Ellis, 31, of Louisville. Both have been charged with battery and are in jail in Louisville awaiting extradition. Jail booking photos of Bailey and Ellis were not immediately available.

The sheriff’s department did not indicate whether Destiny Bailey and Frank Bailey are related.
