A Brownsburg man was found guilty Wednesday of murdering a woman in 2015, the Marion County prosecutor said.

A jury found Anthony Beuhner guilty of murder after a three-day trial, a news release from the prosecutor’s office said.

On Oct. 2, 2015, Janet Cook was located inside an enclosed front porch after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head. Cook’s body was originally discovered by a girl, Cook’s granddaughter. According to several witnesses, Beuhner and Cook had been arguing the night before the shooting. After the shooting, Buehner was located in the backseat of a reported stolen vehicle that was stopped by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department in Kentucky. He was 29 when arrested in Kentucky.

His sentencing has been set for 1 p.m. May 9 in Marion Superior Court, Criminal Division 2.
