Police: Man beat, strangled, stabbed woman for three days in Bloomington

The Bloomington Police Department is seeking help in locating a man wanted for attempted murder.

Police say 34-year-old Brandon Richardson battered, strangled and stabbed a woman over the course of three days earlier this month.

Detectives met with the victim Wednesday afternoon at a hospital. She said he began yelling and beating her on the evening of April 9 at a residence in the 2600 block of South Rogers St.

She says it began over relationship problems and that the assault continued over the next two days.

She says Richardson beat her with a metal bar, strangled her, stabbed her and kept her confined in a room with a dog leash around her neck.

Investigators say she has multiple fractures to her face, a broken vertebrae, broken ribs, contusions and stab wounds.

She says she was able to go to a neighbor for help when Richardson left the house on Wednesday morning.

Her injuries are not considered life-threatening but she has been transferred from a Bloomington hospital to an Indianapolis hospital.

Richardson is to be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his location can call the Bloomington Police Department at 812-339-4477.
