CLAY CO., Ind. (WISH) - Two men were arrested Sunday following a traffic stop in Clay County.
According to a release, Indiana State Police stopped a Dodge Charger for going 74 mph in a 55 mph zone around 6 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 40 near County Road 300 East.
The trooper smelled marijuana as he approached the vehicle.
During a vehicle search, he found approximately 10 grams of marijuana and $7,000 in cash in the trunk.
The driver, Renote D. Hall, 19, was arrested and preliminary charged with dealing marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor; possession of marijuana under 30 grams, a Class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance, a Class C misdemeanor; operating while intoxicated endangerment, a Class A misdemeanor.
The passenger, Antonio D. Young, 19, of Indianapolis, was arrested and preliminary charged with dealing marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor; and possession of marijuana under 30 grams, a Class A misdemeanor.
1:30 P.M. UPDATE: Indiana State Police handled 20 slide-offs in the Bloomington district because of the winter weather, as of 12:30 p.m. Troopers also reported 14 car crashes and 16 cases of helping a motorist.
