INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - 24-Hour News 8 has learned the city has settled a lawsuit involving three top ranking police officers demoted in the wake of David Bisard's August 2010 crash.
Asst. Chief Darryl Pierce, Deputy Chief Ron Hicks and Commander John Conley were the top ranking officials at the scene after the fatal accident involving Officer David Bisard. They were all demoted to their merit rank (the rank they held before becoming IMPD top brass).
They were asking for $300,000 each in the lawsuit.
The settlement calls for them to share $175,000.
The lawsuit named the Mayor, former Public Safety Director Frank Straub and the former Police Chief, Paul Ciesielski. They say they jumped to conclusions and demoted them before knowing the facts of the case.
