WASHINGTON D.C. (WISH) - A spokesperson from the Washington D.C. Police Department confirms an Indianapolis Colts player was arrested over the weekend.
A police official tells 24-Hour News 8 that Joe Lefeged was arrested in Washington D.C.
The details surrounding the arrest were not immediately available.
A public information officer for the department says the charges Lefeged is being arraigned for include carrying a firearm without a license, unregistered firearm, unregistered ammunition, presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
According to Lefeged's biography on the Colts' website, the 25-year-old graduated from Rutgers and is a native of Germantown, Md.
He made his debut with the Indianapolis Colts in 2011.
The Indianapolis Colts released the following statement regarding Lefeged's arrest:
We are aware of the reports regarding Joe Lefeged in Washington, D.C. At this time, we will have no further comment on the pending matter until we gain more information.
