STEWARTSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Southwestern Indiana police are investigating the fatal shootings of a man and a woman found dead in their Posey County home as a possible murder-suicide.
Police say 33-year-old John David Carney and 30-year-old Erica Nicole Davis were found dead late Sunday morning after gunshots were heard at their Stewartsville home.
Sheriff Greg Oeth tells WFIE-TV the couple lived together and had three kids but none of their children were home at the time of the shooting.
Oeth says Davis called her mother Sunday morning and her sister called 911 after overhearing that conversation.
WEHT-TV reports that police are investigating the deaths as a possible murder-suicide. Neighbor Teresa Biggs tells the station the couple had a turbulent relationship and were going to split up.
