INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Metropolitan Police are looking for a suspect involved in an east side homicide.
IMPD responded to the 1700 block of North Ritter Avenue at 3:34 a.m. on Saturday after receiving a call that a person was shot. Police found Craig Hammond in the front yard of a home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
IMPD's homicide unit is looking for James Luckett, a 30-year-old black man who is about 6 foot tall and between 140 and 150 pounds. He's considered a suspect. He also has an outstanding warrant for dealing narcotics, a Class A felony.

Interstate 70 east near Interstate 465 was reopened Tuesday evening after a crash blocked all lanes around 6:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Indianapolis Police Chief Rick Hite will promote 23 officers. Three sergeants will be elevated to the rank of lieutenant. Twenty patrol officers will be promoted to the rank of sergeant.
