MONROE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - The Indiana University Police Department arrested Larry Bird's 21-year-old son on preliminary battery and marijuana charges Sunday.
Officials with the Monroe County Sheriff's Department say Conner Anthony Bird was arrested after an altercation with his girlfriend.
Bird faces charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon, a class C felony, battery, criminal recklessness, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
Bird is a pre-business major at Indiana University. According to a spokesperson at IU, it's too early to know how his status at the school will be affected.
