FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Fort Wayne police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a shooting that killed a 17-year-old youth.
Deadrian Boykins was arrested late Friday and faces a preliminary charge of aggravated battery in connection with the Wednesday slaying of Elijah O. Freeman.
Boykins was being held without bond Sunday in the Allen County lockup. Records didn't indicate whether he had an attorney.
Police have said two men chased Freeman down an alley and fire six or seven gunshots at him before the victim collapsed in a yard. Police Chief Rusty York has said the shooting was gang-related.
The death was Allen County's 15th homicide of the year.
