ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) - An Anderson man was scheduled to 30 years in a federal prison after he pleaded guilty to child exploitation and possessing child pornography.
James V. Carroll, 69, was given the sentence plus $10,000 in victim restitution on Friday, 24-Hour News 8 news partner The Herald Bulletin reports.
He was charged with six counts of child exploitation and one count of possession child pornography last year for incidents in three counties during 2003 and 2007.
A girl says when she was 8 years old Carroll had shown her child porn, molested her and photographed her nude, according to court documents.
Carroll is a former reporter and photographer for Anderson Newspapers Inc. He served two stints, most recently in the early 1990s for The Herald Bulletin.
