INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WISH) - A bicyclist hit while riding on N. Emerson Ave. Saturday night has died from his injuries.
Indianapolis police said Earmon "Bud" Hubbard III, 52, was headed southbound around 9:45 p.m. when he was hit from behind in the 2600 block of N. Emerson Ave.
Investigators believed the vehicle involved continued from the scene to travel westbound on I-70.
Medics transported the Hubbard to Wishard Hospital where was later pronounced dead.
Officers were looking for a dark colored, possibly dark green SUV.
"We believe [it] to be an early 90s, possibly Ford Explorer… With a tan stripe or tan molding on the bottom. [It] should have front end damage," Lt. Mark McCardia said.
IMPD said hit and run investigators would work to obtain surveillance video from area businesses for more information about the suspect's vehicle.
Anyone with information has been urged to call IMPD at (317) 327-6549 or Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS (8744).
