CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) - The Carmel Police Department arrested three men Thursday who allegedly were involved in a string of vehicle thefts.
A 17-year-old juvenile male from Indianapolis was arrested for motor vehicle theft, theft and possession of a handgun without a license. He was taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center. William Devante Boone, 18, of Indianapolis, was arrested for motor vehicle theft and theft. James Lamonn Moore, 19, of Indianapolis, was arrested for motor vehicle theft and theft. Both were taken to the Hamilton County Jail.
Officials say at 4 a.m. Thursday, police responded to Spruce Drive on a report of a stole truck that was parked in the driveway.
Officers located the truck at the Main Street/Keystone Avenue intersection and made a traffic stop. Two of the suspects were taken into custody.
After further investigation, they were told that another person that was allegedly involved in the crime was in a stolen Honda and was driving with the stolen vehicle. The car was found in a McDonald's parking lot at Keystone Avenue and Carmel Drive. The driver was found hiding behind a dumpster. He was arrested without incident.
Carmel police are asking vehicle owners to remember to lock their vehicles and to not leave keys inside of them.
