WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) - Westfield police say they caught a man attempting to flee from a reported burglary location.
Mark Duwayne Smith, 47, of Westfield, was arrested on preliminary charges of two counts of burglary, theft and criminal mischief after he allegedly broke into Firehouse Pizza, 208 E. Main St., early Thursday morning.
Around 12:45 a.m., an employee of a nearby business heard loud noises coming from the pizza place and called police. When officers arrived, they found a man crawling out of a window.
When police asked him to stop, he attempted to flee on his bicycle.
He was arrested and taken to the Hamilton County Jail.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for all of central Indiana until 7a.m. Monday.
