MARION, Ind. (WISH) - Marion police have identified the woman who was killed in an early morning shooting.
The Grant County Coroner says the shooting victim is 23-year-old Megan Chipman.
Around 6:50 a.m., officers were called to an area near Hotel Marion, 501 E. Fourth St., about gunshots being fired, police officials said. When they arrived they found a woman in the road on State Road 18 with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.
Medics took Chipman to Marion General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police have no immediate suspects.
