JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - An Indianapolis man arrested in April on a residential entry charge was arrested again after Johnson County authorities decided to pursue a stronger charge against him.
Scottie Turner, 54, was arrested in early April after a Center Grove couple said he broke into their home. One of the residents fought with Turner and held him in the home until police arrived.
On Monday, the Johnson County prosecutor's office announced it is pursuing a Class A felony burglary charge against Turner, instead of the original Class D felony charge of residential entry. The burglary charge carries a much longer prison sentence if Turner is convicted.
Interstate 70 east near Interstate 465 was reopened Tuesday evening after a crash blocked all lanes around 6:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Indianapolis Police Chief Rick Hite will promote 23 officers. Three sergeants will be elevated to the rank of lieutenant. Twenty patrol officers will be promoted to the rank of sergeant.
