MARKLEVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - The Markleville Police Department arrested two men Wednesday after they allegedly robbed the Bake Mart Convenience Store and gas station.
Officials say a masked man walked into the gas station at the intersection of State Roads 38 and 109 around 9 a.m. and robbed the clerk by gunpoint. The suspect fled in an older model red Doge pickup with at least three people inside.
Employees were able to get the plate number as the truck fled the scene.
Police dispatched the truck description and plate number to all law enforcement agencies. Around 12:30 p.m., police found the truck at Sixth and School streets in Greenfield. The suspects were then taken into custody and the undisclosed amount of stolen cash was recovered.
John Weaver, 28, of Carthage and Shawn Adams, 21, of Greenfield, were arrested for armed robbery, a Class B felony.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be filed.
