INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead and a woman with serious injuries.
Several 911 calls were received late Friday directing officers to the shooting around 12th Street and Arlington Ave. on the city's far east side. Officers responded to that location and others reported in the area around 10:30 p.m. before discovering the scene on the 5800 block of Village Plaza Drive.
IMPD found two victims in a pickup truck that had slammed into a vacant apartment building. A man and a woman suffered from gunshot wounds.
The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives have identified him as 21-year-old Timothy Denny.
Medics transported the female passenger to a hospital in serious condition.
Police canvassed the area for witnesses and evidence related to the shooting. Detectives say they would like to talk to 22-year-old Kenneth L. Brittain, considered to be a person of interest, police say.
He is described as a black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 225 pounds.
