I-Team 8: Animal rescue collected tax dollars, didn’t disclose health conditions

VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (WISH) — A viral Facebook post regarding a Fountain County animal rescue led to a months-long I-Team 8 investigation.

I-Team 8 was made aware of the posts earlier this year and spoke with the president of Hoosier Hooves and Hounds.

The rescue has since posted on its website that it is closing down, but not because of allegations of animal neglect.

I-Team 8 spoke with dozens of former volunteers and people who had adopted pets from the rescue. Some found their pets had life-threatening conditions that were not disclosed.

Our investigation also revealed that the rescue had received thousands in tax dollars.
