EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - The University of Evansville has cancelled a baseball game after a vague threat on Twitter.
The game against Austin Peay on Tuesday was cancelled after (at)PopeQuanPaul posted a tweet in the morning saying "We can't get any type of mental health help in this damn town. I bet they'd wanna help us if we shoot up a (at)UEAthletics game tho."
The Evansville Courier & Press reports the university sent an alert to students warning of a "potential threat" at an athletic event.
Dean of students Dana Clayton says the university cancelled the game in light of Tuesday's bombing of the Boston Marathon. and that it's under investigation by the Evansville Police Department.
Someone using the same Twitter account made a similar threat against Evansville police.
